Getting started with ScatterSpoke
By the end of this lesson you will have a ScatterSpoke workspace of your own and know where everything in it lives. It takes about ten minutes, and you need nothing except an email address you can open.
We’ll use email and password throughout. Other sign-up methods exist, but one path is enough to learn on.
Step 1 — Create your account
Section titled “Step 1 — Create your account”Open the ScatterSpoke sign-up page.
Enter your email address, then a password of at least eight characters, and choose Create account.
The screen turns into a Check your email card. Open your inbox, find the message from ScatterSpoke, and follow the verification link.
The link brings you back into ScatterSpoke, and something immediately starts talking to you.
Step 2 — Meet the onboarding interview
Section titled “Step 2 — Meet the onboarding interview”You’re now in the onboarding conversation. This is your first sight of what ScatterSpoke actually does: instead of a settings form, an AI agent interviews you, and the answers become your workspace.
The screen has two halves.
On the left is the conversation. The agent opens; you type in the box at the bottom and press Enter.
On the right is a panel titled Workspace setup, with a counter reading 0 / 5. It lists what the interview needs to collect:

Watch that panel while you talk. The rows fill in as the agent picks things up.
Step 3 — Answer the interview
Section titled “Step 3 — Answer the interview”Reply to each question in a sentence or two. Short answers work better here than paragraphs — this is a setup conversation, not the survey itself.
Over the next few exchanges, tell the agent:
- Your name. Say it plainly — “My name is Alex Rivera”.
- Where you work. “I’m at Endgame Labs” is enough. This becomes your workspace name.
- What you’re trying to learn. Say what’s actually bothering you — “I want to know whether our timelines are realistic”, or “I want to replace our standups with something async”.
Each answer lands in the panel on the right within a beat or two. When the counter reaches 5 / 5, the interview has what it needs.
If you spot a row that came out wrong — a mangled workspace name, say — choose Edit on that row, correct it, and save. The corrected value is what gets used.
The panel also offers Set up 2FA and Add passkey under Account security. Both are genuinely optional and we’re not doing them now; signing in covers them once you have a workspace to protect.
Step 4 — Watch the workspace get built
Section titled “Step 4 — Watch the workspace get built”When the agent has everything, the conversation ends on its own. The screen replaces itself with Setting up your workspace and a pulsing logo.
Wait for it. In a few seconds your workspace exists, and you land inside it.
Step 5 — Close the survey modal
Section titled “Step 5 — Close the survey modal”ScatterSpoke drops you on the Surveys page with a New survey modal already open, because building a survey is the obvious next thing to do.
You’re not doing it in this lesson. Choose Cancel.
Behind the modal is your workspace, and it’s empty. That’s correct — nobody has collected anything yet.
Step 6 — Learn the room
Section titled “Step 6 — Learn the room”Take one minute on the sidebar, left to right of the screen and top to bottom of the panel.
At the top, your workspace name. Selecting it opens the workspace switcher — useful later, when you belong to more than one.
Below that, Quick find with a ⌘K shortcut. It jumps to anything by name.
Feedback is the first group of links:
- Surveys — everything you build and everything it collects. You’re looking at it.
- Retros — live retrospective boards, when they’re enabled for your workspace.
- Templates — prepared surveys to start from instead of a blank page.
AI is the second group:
- Ask — put questions to your accumulated feedback in plain language.
- MCP — connect the workspace to your editor through the MCP server.
Recent appears under those once you’ve opened a few things, listing what you touched last.
At the very bottom is your own chip. It shows your name and which plan the workspace is on, and opens a menu holding billing, settings, theme, and sign-out.
What you’ve done
Section titled “What you’ve done”You have a ScatterSpoke workspace on the Free plan with one seat, created out of a conversation rather than a form. You know where surveys, templates, retros, and Ask live, and how to get back to any of them.
It has no feedback in it yet. That’s the next lesson: your first survey ends with a real, published survey you can send to real people.
